On the Roads is a digital collection of maps and books thematically related to travel, tourism and roads in Latvia. The maps included in the collection show the territory of Latvia and its neighbours, dating from the 16th century to modern times. There are different maps of roads and railways, old tourism maps and city plans. The textual part of this collection includes the oldest travel descriptions in Latvian and tourism guide books in Latvian, German and Russian, published in Latvia between the second part of the 19th century until 1950.
